The Start: SKETCHES
I kick started the project with some free, creative sketch concepts. This helped me get a rough idea of what I was to work on.
Ideation: 3 Models
Chosen Solution
After a few considerations from my sketches, I chose to model 3 out of the 5. Out of the three, the one directly above was my preferred choice.
Development of chosen
I proceeded to create a model for my final solution. I modified it to properly meet the requirements of the brief.
The process
Working with ABS was not an easy task. I used Methylene Chloride to connect the joints of the planter. The creation of the templates was okay. The ABS snapped along the mark made by the craft knife. The creation of the matte finish proved to be time consuming. The sanding took some time as the grit paper I used was also a fine grit. Overall, I was happy with the final product.
